Terrapond is a premium Calcium Montmorillonite clay. It contains color-enhancing and health promoting nutrients for your fish and removes toxins, bacterium and other harmful particulates in pond water.

Terrapond is a micron-sized colloidal special clay that stays suspended in your water while doing its work. Many first-time users are often concerned when their water doesn't clear in a short period of time. Please do not be alarmed. Even if you apply a dosage that exceeds our recommended amount, you will not harm your fish and it will still polish the water to a sparkling clarity.

We suggest that you start with a conservative dose if your pond water is already at or close to an acceptable quality level Terrapond's colloidal suspension properties allow it to continue bonding with impurities causing them to increase in size and that makes them filterable.  It also allows more nutrients to get into your koi’s systems. Since the best Japanese koi are raised and live in mud ponds, your fish will thank you for the better water quality that improves their conformation, coloration, health, and vitality.

 HOW TO USE:

Weekly Maintenance Dosage for Normal Water Quality

50 Grams (two heaping tablespoons) per each 1000 gallons of water.

Weekly Dosage for Poor Water Quality and Prior to Shows

100Grams (1/4 cup or ¼ lb.) per each 1000 gallons of water two to four weeks prior to shows. Return to normal dosage when good water quality is achieved or after the show.

For poor water conditions from decomposed organic matter, algae (green water), toxic pollution and turbidity, more frequent dosages may be required for several weeks until a water balance and maximum clarity is achieved. Once a clear water balance is attained, return to a normal weekly water dosage.

Other Considerations

Water temperature will vary during the year and your dosage amounts should be adjusted to these changes. Lower doses may be used during the cooler months of the year. Timing of water clarity may also be affected by your pond water pump turnover rate, total number of fish and other animals, decomposed fish food, plants and filtration system.
